  1. Love the MUD!! One of my students filled a pail with mud, then threw it up in the air. When it landed the mud flew up into her face! We all laughed and helped her get washed up :) The kids learned some foundations of physics that they will use as they develop understanding in higher grades.

  3. These photos tell it all. What a revelation to be playing out in the rain and mud - something that is common in our area! Children will naturally learn that to be outdoors in icky weather, doesn't mean an icky time is had. Busy parents often don't have time or are not prepared to let their kids stomp in the puddles and the mud. I love the mud kitchen idea too! You're doing wonderful things, Dianne!

  4. So much fun! I love letting my kids play in mud but I think I need to get those full body outfits for more fun.

  5. I love the outfits the kids are wearing. Having the right outdoor wear is the key to having a great time in the cold and rain :) I am glad they have found such a wonderland in your backyard!!

  6. Dear Diane, these are inspiring images that truly reflect the wonderful opportunities that are on the door step for children if only people would go and look. They would be a brilliant resource to use with practitionners in england if you would grant permission. I would honour you as the originator. Please could you let me know if this would be possible . thank you Vanessa
